MATLOCK GLAMPING ROOMS

UNIQUE HOLIDAY ACCOMMODATION IN THE DERBYSHIRE DALES
ABOUT

ABOUT

Set in the heart of the historic spa town of Matlock, these newly renovated 'Glamping Rooms' ooze style and comfort. They are the latest addition to Designate, a creative and eclectic, family run business. On site and available to guests, by prior arrangement, is a cosy bar with open fire, home cooked food and a fully licensed party venue complete with beach garden. The two rooms are self contained, each with a shower room and a cute, fully equipped kitchenette. Transforming between a double room to a family room for 6, these spaces are ideal for couples, practical for families of all sizes and convenient for party guests. Please contact us to request all adult occupancy. All bedding and towels are provided for the double bed. The single beds have mattress protectors, a fitted sheet and pillow, including pillow case, but a sleeping bag, or duvet, and towel must be brought. Extra blankets, maps, books & games are available and there is a boot store, bike shed and parking. Breakfasts, packed lunch, evening meals and themed party packages are all available. Designate can also provide a handy drop-off service allowing you to explore the amazing Peak District and Derbyshire Dales with ease.

OUR ROOMS

Left or Right?

You'll not be disappointed with either. Both the rooms in our Glamping Barn are finished to the same high standards and contain identical fixtures and fittings. Free Wifi, a 32" Smart TV/DVD and plenty of charging points will keep the gadget addicts happy whilst the comfy beds and board games are available for those seeking a quiet break.

The two private rooms are self contained within the barn, with a shower room and a cute, fully equipped kitchenette. Ideal for couples but also practical for a large family.

The rooms are:

£75 as a double mid week.

£95.00 Fridays.

£95.00 Saturdays.

Additional beds are £15.00 per night. Discounts apply for multiple night stays. Please state your occupancy requirements within your enquiry.

The top bunk bed and the single bed on the mezzanine (see photos) are accessed by ladders and are over 2 metres from ground level. There are protective rails but care must be taken and we would not recommend use of these beds by children under the age of 12.

SEE & DO

THINGS TO DO

Restaurants/Bars

Matlock has a wide and varied choice of eateries and drinking holes. On our doorstep we have 2 very popular micro pubs/bars called The Newsroom (once the local newsagents) and The Farmacy who have their own brewery (Aldwark Artisan Ales.) There are just too many restaurants within walking distance to list here so contact us if you are looking for something specific or need some recommendations.

For the Kids

Matlock has a lovely, award winning park complete with kids play area, miniture train, motor boats, putting green, tennis courts, skate park, lovely café and a working bandstand!

There is also a modern leisure centre with swimming pool, sports hall, soft play area and café. Some attractions within easy reach include Matlock Farm Park, Matlock Meadows, Gullivers Kingdom, Heights of Abraham and Peak Rail. Click on the links!

The Peak District

We are privileged to be situated on the edge of the stunning Peak District, the first of the UK' s National Parks and the most accessible and popular with over 10 million visitors a year. With it's countless idyllic villages, stunning scenery, diverse landscapes and abundance of outdoor activities you will return home refreshed, energised and inspired...unless of course you spend all your time in the excellent country pubs!

Outdoor Activities

People flock to the Derbyshire Dales to participate in some of the many outdoor leisure activities. You don't have to look far to find some of the UK's best mountain and road cycling, climbing, abseiling, walking, canoeing and water sports. There are miles of trails that have utilised old railway routes (shallow gradients) including The inter-connecting Monsal, Tissington and High Peak trails. Carsington Water is a great place to spend a day with circular walks/cycle rides and loads of options to get out on to the water.

Heritage Sites

There are a number of 'must see' destinations within easy access of us too. Both Chatsworth House, home to The Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, and Haddon Hall are less than 20 minutes drive and accessible via public transport.

Derwent Valley Mills is a World Heritage site and can be found in Cromford only 3 miles away. Here you will also have access to the Cromford Canal.

Slightly further away but well worth a visit is Hardwick Hall  and Bolsover Castle.
